The Gypsy Princess was the best and most famous work of the Austro-Hungarian composer Emmerich Kálmán. The immortal operetta owes its success not only to the breath-taking music, but also to the humorous libretto. The young Viennese prince Edwin falls in love with the star of the Budapest cabaret Sylva Varescu. However, she goes on tour in the United States and Edwin receives a call-up papers. In order not to lose his love, Edwin decides to make a proposal to her. At this moment, the mishaps and sudden twists in human destinies, typical for Kálmán´s works, begin.
